LeAnn Gray Skinner
Skinner earned an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education (special education, mild/moderate) in 1984 and a master’s in 1988, followed by multiple certifications and a Master’s +30 and additional advanced certifications from LSU-Shreveport. Over 37 years of teaching, instructional leadership and serving as an assistant principal and principal, her ambition was always to make a difference in the lives of children.
After retirement, she continues to volunteer as a reading tutor and with Dream Hunt, where she provides fishing experiences for students with special needs. She is writing a book about 37 years in education and said that being honored by Northwestern “is a true full-circle moment that reinforces my lifelong ambition to make a difference.”
