Before email and expanded low-cost long distance service, students wrote postcards and letters to family and friends back home. Since the early days of the last century, commercial vendors came through Natchitoches to shoot photographs to make picture postcards. The earliest one seen is 1907, but others were sold over the years through the 1970s. Traditions has assembled a collection of post cards representing the time line of 1907 to the most recent. There are more out there, and your help is needed to develop an archive of these cards.
Please scan and email the front and back of any postcards of campus scenes to traditions@nsula.edu and help us record the traditions that make Northwestern a special place since 1884.
